Shrove (Pancake) Tuesday

Shrove (Pancake) Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday. Though named for its former religious significance, it is chiefly marked by feasting and celebration which traditionally preceded the observance of the Lenten fast. Shrove (Pancake) Tuesday is February 17. This year, our Catholic School will be making pancakes. We thank Sunset Grill for the donation of the pancake mix. The pancakes contain the following ingredients: enriched wheat flour, sugar, buttermilk powder, soy flour, palm shortening, baking powder, dextrose, milk ingredients, wheat starch, salt, dried whole eggs and colour. For students with egg and dairy allergies, we will be using pancake mix that is egg and dairy free. These pancakes will be made on a separate grill with a separate set of cooking utensils. Parents/Guardians, if there is a need for an alternative snack due to an allergy, please call the office and let us know no later than Friday, February 13 so arrangements can be made. Thank you to the Catholic School Council for organizing and funding Shrove (Pancake) Tuesday for the school!
