Once again, Father John Kelly is pleased to be hosting its “Terry Fox Walk” on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 (rain date is Wednesday, September 25). The kickoff assembly will take place on Tuesday, September 17. We at Father John Kelly continue to have two very important goals for our walk; to have all of our students be able to articulate why Terry has become such a historic figure within our Canadian history and to raise funds, in his memory, towards his dream of one day finding a cure for cancer. Through our participation, we hope that students will be able to view themselves as agents of positive change. Toward these goals, we at Father John Kelly will be asking our JK – Gr. 8 students to contribute a $2.00 donation. Parents/Guardians may go on-line and donate to: Father John Kelly Terry Fox Walk. This will take you directly to the Father John Kelly school page. Please click “Donate” and fill out the required information. You may also leave an inspirational message, if you so choose. The Walking Excursion Form will go home with your child/children during the first week of school and more information will be sent home via School Messenger closer to the date. As in past years, students are encouraged to wear red and white on the day of the walk. We are very proud to be associated with the Terry Fox Foundation and believe that our involvement will be such a positive launch to our school year. Let’s keep Terry’s dream alive!
